At the outbreak of World War II, Lionel Crabb joined the British Army as a Gunner. In 1944, after Italy surrendered to the allies, Lionel Crabb served as Commander of anti-sabotage diving in northern Italy, and head of the Clearance Diving Team in Venezia. In August, 1945, Lionel Crabb was sent to Palestine to lead an underwater explosives disposal team removing mines placed by ITzL אצ"ל and Palyam פלי"ם. |
