At age three years, Avigdor Ben-Gal was orphaned, when the Nazis invaded Poland.
He and his 5-year-old sister, liana, set off on a journey across Russia.

The journey from Poland to Palestine, took Avigdor Ben-Gal, and his sister, three years.
After a year on a kibbutz, Avigdor and liana hiked to Tel Aviv, where they were taken in by a distant cousin who raised them.
