In the autumn of 1940, thousands German soldiers camped in Hirlau Hârlău.
Narrative
When the Russians bombed the town, the authorities spread the rumor that one of the pilots was a Jew from Hirlau Hârlău.
When the front got clos to Hirlau Hârlău, the Germans decided to massacre the Jews and left a unit to execute the Aktion, but the Red Army entered the town from Butasan and from Iasi, and captured the German unit.
