Narrative

Zichron Moshe זיכרון משה‎ is located in central Yerushalayim, next to Mea Shearim and Geulah, between רחוב הנביאים and כיכר השבת
It was one of several neighborhoods in Jerusalem named after Sir Moses Montefiore.
In 1856, the Simon von Lämel school was built, with funds donated by Elise Herz Lamel of Vienna, Austria in memory of her father.
The Zichron Moshe neighborhood grew up around the school, Jerusalem's third Jewish school.
In 1905, the neighbourhood, built for school teachers, was founded.
It is one of about one hundred neighborhoods included in the plans for preservation of Yerushalayim.
