On July 22, 1940, Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Minister of Economic Warfare, Hugh Dalton, officially formed the Special Operations Executive SOE was a World War II organization to conduct guerrilla warfare against the Axis powers and to instruct and aid local resistance movements.
