חטיבת הראל Harel Brigade, צה"ל

Narrative

On April 16, 1948, the Harel Brigade חטיבת הראל‎ was established, as a division of the Palmach פלמ"ח, right after Operation Nachshon מבצע נחשון.
The Brigade was composed of three battalions in the Jerusalem area, that had fought in Operation Nachshon מבצע נחשון.
The Brigade was headed by Yitzhak Rabin, appointed its first commander.
