Birnbaum

Pierre Birnbaum is the visiting professor in Jewish studies at the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies, at Columbia University.
He teaches in both the Department of History and the Department of Political Science.
He was professor of political sociology at the Sorbonne.
He is the author or editor of more than thirty books on Jewish history, political science, and sociology, and is one of the world's leading experts on French Jewish society as well as on theories of the state.
