Narrative
The Botwin Company Compañía Judía Naftali Botwin. was named after Naftali Botwin, a Polish Jewish worker who gave his life in the struggle against reactionaries and Fascists, faught bravely and was sentenced to death by a Fascist court.
His name became a symbol of the Jewish people's fight for freedom and a symbol of international solidarity.
They were called Di royte teyvelonim Diablos Rojos Red Devils.
Narrative
On December 12, 1937,the Botwin Company Compañía Botwin was formed, against the ideology of the Comintern regarding ethnic units, incorporating the 13th Polish Dombrowski Brigade 13 Brigada Polaca Dombrowski Palafox Battalion Batallón Palafox.
The idea of a Jewish Company in the International Brigades Brigadas Internacionales was formulated in Paris , during July and August, 1937, and Jacques Kaminsky, French Communist leader, was sent to Spain España to discuss it with the commanders of the International Brigades Brigadas Internacionaless and the Jews fighting in the units.
The originalBotwin Company Compañía Botwin consisted of about 80 men, many of whom were Spanish with 10 Jews and 10 Poles.
