Zichron Moshe זיכרון משה was one of several neighborhoods in Yerushalayim ירושלים named after Sir Moses Montefiore., and one of about one hundred neighborhoods included in the plans for preservation of Yerushalayim ירושלים.
In 1856, the Simon von Lämel School was built, with funds donated by Elise Herz Lamel of Wien, in memory of her father.
The Zichron Moshe זיכרון משה neighborhood grew up around the school, Yerushalayim ירושלים's third Jewish school.
In 1905, the Zichron Moshe זיכרון משה neighbourhood, built for school teachers, was founded.
