In 1891, SS Pallanza was built by C. S. Swan & Hunter , Wallsend-on-Tyne.

On May 11, 1891, she was launched as "Chancellor" for Harrison.
In 1901, she was purchased by Sloman Line/Harrison Line, Liverpool, renamed Pallanza.

SS Pallanza sailed from Hamburg/Bremerhaven to New York.
SS Pallanza, sailed from Hamburg and landed at Halifax, on February 18, 1904, was seriously threatened by a fire which broke out when the steamship was within 500 miles of the American coast.

On April 30, 1905, SS Pallanza arrived at Halifax.

On June 6, 1905, SS Pallanza sailed from Hamburg and landed at Halifax, on June 20, 1905.
On June 13, 1914, SS Pallanza sailed from Hamburg, via Bremen and Rotterdam and landed at Quebec City, on June 30, 1914.
She came south of Newfoundland, as another ship was noted as the first through the Strait of Belle Isle.

On November 11, 1915, SS Palanza was sunk by mine near Borkum.
